Why 3 Second Finality Changes Everything
In blockchain, “finality” means the point at which a block or operation is considered irreversible. QYN achieves finality in about 3 seconds. That’s a big deal for verification and dApps: users can trust that a verification record won’t be reverted after a short wait. This post explains why 3-second finality matters for truth.
Why finality matters
On some chains, a block can be included and then reverted if the chain reorganises. That’s risky for verification: you might think a result is final, then it gets rolled back. With economic finality, once the protocol marks a block as final, it won’t be reverted. QYN does that in roughly 3 seconds, so within a few seconds you have certainty.
How QYN does it
QYN’s consensus is designed for fast finality. Validators produce blocks in a structured way, and the protocol defines a finality depth (e.g. a number of confirmations) after which a block is considered final. Combined with 3-second block times, that gives you 3-second finality in practice. No waiting for 10 or 20 blocks like on some other chains.
Impact on UX
For newsrooms, platforms, or any application where “verification completed” matters, 3-second finality means you can show a trusted result quickly and safely. For dApps, it means fewer race conditions and a smoother experience. The getting started guide and testnet let you feel the speed yourself.
