QYN

VALIDATORS

Become a QYN Validator

Help secure the QYN network by running a validator node and participating in proof-of-stake consensus.

What validators do

Validators on QYN produce blocks and validate transactions. They run a full node, stake QYN, and follow the protocol rules. In return, they earn a share of transaction fees. The network uses proof-of-stake consensus, so validators do not need mining hardware—only reliable infrastructure and enough stake to meet the requirements.

Block production is fast: QYN targets roughly 3-second block times and 3-second finality, so the chain can handle high throughput while staying decentralised.

Requirements

To run a validator you need: a server or machine that meets the hardware requirements (detailed in the node documentation), a stable internet connection, and enough QYN to stake. Exact stake requirements and slashing rules will be published ahead of mainnet. On testnet, you can run a node to familiarise yourself with the setup without mainnet stake.

Full step-by-step instructions are in the docs: Run a node. That guide covers installation, configuration, and connecting to the network.

Security and slashing

Validators must stay online and follow the protocol. Misbehaviour (e.g. double-signing or prolonged downtime) can result in slashing—loss of a portion of staked QYN. The QYN design includes defences against 51% attacks, nothing-at-stake, and long-range attacks, as described on the security page.
